Privacy
The only personal data I get from this site is what you type into one of its two forms. Here's where it goes.
Reading
Cloudflare hosts the site and counts page views with its Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies. Like any host, it sees your IP address when your browser asks for a page, and it may keep request logs for a few days. If you flip the light/dark switch, your browser remembers the choice on your device and never sends it anywhere.
Writing to me
The form on Advising sends your name, email and message to my inbox as an email, through a service called Resend. The site doesn't keep a copy. Before it sends, Cloudflare Turnstile checks you're not a bot by looking at your IP address and browser. It sets no cookies here.
New-post emails
Sign up and you get a confirmation link first. Your address is added only once you click it, and from then on it's kept by Resend, which sends the emails, and nowhere else. It's a few emails a year, each with an unsubscribe link. The same Turnstile check runs on this form.
Where it's stored
Resend keeps its data in the United States, under its own privacy policy. Messages from the contact form end up in my email at Fastmail.
Asking about your data
Use the contact form on Advising and I'll tell you what I have, or delete it.
