What’s actually inside the thing everyone else just uses?

A work lamp aimed at the thing the parts came out ofAn articulated work lamp stands at the right on a horizontal rule that is the surface it sits on. A low round base carries a small housing, and from it a jointed arm rises to a square elbow block; a second segment reaches up and to the left, and a shade hangs off its end, flaring to a wide rim that faces down at a spot in the middle of the rule. The inside of that rim is filled warm and a soft warm glow with no edge lies on the surface where the shade is pointing; nothing is drawn between the two. Under the lamp a question mark hangs upright a little above the surface, drawn as a cut-out shape about forty units tall and touching nothing. The light falls across it, brightest at the top of the hook nearest the lamp and fading toward the dot, and a soft glow lies on the surface beneath it. The three dashed axes leave that lit spot below it. Beneath the rule the three pieces sit close beneath the rule at slightly staggered depths, each joined up to the surface by a thin dashed line, and each carries a few interior marks; the middle and deepest one carries an inner outline of its own. Below them, three handwritten words — why, how and what for — each send a short solid line up to a dot on the underside of one of them.whyhowwhat for

Day to day I lead engineering enablement across HoneyBook, which lately means working out how a whole org builds with AI agents without making a mess of it.

Six packages I maintain get about 2.7 million downloads a month. The first one went out in February 2018.

I've given five conference talks since 2022, in the US, Europe and Israel.

In this article we’re going to review Chrome Extensions architecture and learn how to incorporate Angular into it. We will be starting from scratch with ng new and finishing with a fully functional Chrome extension, convenient dev environment and hopefully a decent understanding of how it works.

Owning an open-source project

Open Source Series: Automation

If there is anything I’ve learnt in the years of owning an open source it is that the less routine work you have to do yourself the more free time you have for actual work (like fixing bugs and developing new features). Today we’re going to talk about Automation.
